REGULATION ON THE USE OF THE LOGO OF THE INTERNATIONAL CANICROSS FEDERATION (I.C.F.™)
Article 1 – Purpose and Scope
This Regulation defines the terms, conditions, and standards governing the use of the official logo of the International Canicross Federation (ICF™), with the aim of protecting the Federation’s corporate identity, institutional credibility, and intellectual and commercial property rights.
The ICF™ logo is a distinctive symbol of the Federation and is recognized as a registered trademark. Its use is governed exclusively by the provisions of this Regulation and by any additional decisions, guidelines, or approvals issued by the ICF™ Board of Directors.
This Regulation applies to all forms of logo usage, including printed materials, digital media, audiovisual content, sporting events, sponsorship communications, promotional activities, publications, advertising, and commercial applications.
Article 2 – Legal Status and Ownership Rights
The ICF™ logo is the exclusive property of the International Canicross Federation and is protected under applicable legislation relating to:
- trademarks
- intellectual property
- unfair competition
- corporate and organizational identity
Any use of the logo does not imply the transfer of ownership or commercial rights to third parties.
The ICF™ reserves the exclusive right to:
- license
- restrict
- revoke
- prohibit use of the logo
at any time and without prior notice, where it is deemed that the terms of this Regulation are violated or the Federation’s reputation is harmed.
Article 3 – Permitted Use
The use of the ICF™ logo is permitted only with prior written approval from the ICF™ Board of Directors or another duly authorized body of the Federation.
No use of the logo shall be deemed automatically permitted due to membership, cooperation, participation in activities, sponsorship, or event organization without explicit prior authorization.
Approval may be granted for a specific purpose, duration, and scope, and may be revoked at any time at the Federation’s discretion.
3.1 Approved Events
The logo may be used in sporting events, championships, cups, seminars, or activities that:
- are held under the official auspices of the ICF™
- have received prior written approval
- are officially recognized by the Federation
Use is limited strictly to the duration of the approved event and only for related promotional purposes.
3.2 Clubs – Members and National Representatives
Officially recognized clubs, national associations, or members may use the logo only with prior approval:
- official documents
- educational and informational materials
- websites
- official social media
- presentations and administrative announcements
The use must clearly indicate the cooperative or membership relationship and must not imply independent ownership or exclusive representation of the ICF™.
3.3 Communication and Promotion of Canicross
The logo may be used, with prior approval, for:
- public information
- promotion of the sport of canicross
- educational initiatives
- development of sports culture and canine welfare
- dissemination of values aligned with the Federation’s mission
All use must be directly related to ICF™ objectives and must not create confusion regarding official representation or authorization.
Article 4 – Prohibited Uses
The following uses are strictly prohibited:
4.1 Alteration or Modification
It is not permitted to:
- change colors
- alter shapes
- modify proportions
- distort the logo
- crop elements
- add graphics
- combine with other logos
- create derivative versions
Only the officially approved version may be used.
4.2 Commercial Exploitation
The logo may not be used without prior written permission on:
- commercial products
- clothing
- sports equipment
- souvenirs
- merchandising products
- sponsor-related products
- paid services
All commercial use requires special licensing.
4.3 Misleading Representation
Prohibited uses include those that:
- falsely imply official cooperation
- suggest approval without authorization
- present entities as official representatives without recognition
4.4 Incompatible or Defamatory Use
The logo may not be associated with:
- political activities
- religious propaganda
- offensive content
- violent or abusive material
- practices contrary to animal welfare
- activities damaging the Federation’s or sport’s reputation
Article 5 – Technical Specifications
The logo must be reproduced in high resolution using only official files provided by the ICF™.
It is not permitted to:
- use low-quality versions
- blur or distort the image
- alter proportions during resizing
A clear space must be maintained around the logo to ensure visibility and integrity.
The logo must not be placed on backgrounds that reduce visibility or distort its appearance. Official color guidelines must be followed.
Article 6 – Use in Digital Media and Social Networks
Use of the logo on:
- websites
- social media platforms
- livestreams
- podcasts
- newsletters
- digital advertisements
is permitted only when related to official or approved canicross activities and provided that no misleading impression of official representation is created.
Use as a profile picture, watermark, or primary branding by unauthorized entities is not permitted.
Article 7 – Approval Procedure
Any party wishing to use the ICF™ logo must submit a written request to the Board of Directors.
The request must include:
- purpose of use
- duration
- sample or mock-up
- platforms where the logo will appear
- information on possible commercial use
The ICF™ reserves the right to:
- approve
- reject
- impose conditions
- limit usage
No approval shall be considered implicit or automatic.
Article 8 – Revocation of Permission
The ICF™ may revoke authorization at any time if:
- terms are violated
- misleading use occurs
- reputation is harmed
- membership or cooperation ends
All use must cease immediately upon revocation.
Article 9 – Violations and Penalties
Unauthorized use of the logo may result in:
- written warning
- demand for immediate cessation
- revocation of licenses or partnerships
- exclusion from events
- legal action under trademark and intellectual property law
The ICF™ reserves all legal rights to protect its distinctive marks.
Article 10 – Final Provisions
This Regulation enters into force upon approval by the Board of Directors of the International Canicross Federation (ICF™).
The Federation reserves the right to amend or update this Regulation at any time.
Any matter not expressly covered herein shall be interpreted and decided exclusively by the ICF™ Board of Directors.
Use of the ICF™ logo constitutes full and unconditional acceptance of these terms.
Technical Specifications for the Use of the Logo
When using the logo of the International Canicross Federation (ICF™), the following technical standards must be strictly observed in order to ensure correct representation, recognizability, and integrity of the mark:
1. File Quality
- The logo must be used exclusively from the official files provided by the ICF™.
- The use of low-resolution images, screenshots, or unofficial copies is strictly prohibited.
- The resolution must be high enough for both print and digital applications without any loss of quality.
2. Proportional Integrity
- No distortion of the logo is permitted.
- Scaling (enlargement or reduction) must always be proportional, without stretching or compression.
- All elements of the logo must retain their original proportions.
3. Color Accuracy
- Only the officially approved ICF™ color palette may be used.
- Any alteration of colors, tones, filters, or color variations is not permitted.
- In cases of monochrome usage, only the officially approved monochrome version may be applied.
4. Clear Space (Protection Zone)
- A sufficient clear space must be maintained around the logo at all times.
- No text, images, or graphic elements may be placed within this protection zone.
- The minimum clear space must follow the official ICF™ design specifications.
5. Background and Visibility
- The logo must be placed on backgrounds that ensure clear visibility and readability.
- Busy, complex, or visually noisy backgrounds that reduce legibility are not permitted.
- Adequate contrast between the logo and its background must always be ensured.
6. Typography (Font Usage)
The typography associated with or used in connection with the logo of the International Canicross Federation (ICF™) must comply with strict standards in order to ensure a consistent and unified corporate identity:
- Only the officially approved ICF™ typefaces may be used.
- Substitution with similar or system fonts is not permitted without prior approval.
- Modification of the typeface (e.g., bold/italic styling, condensation, expansion, or other stylistic alterations) is not permitted unless explicitly defined in the official brand guidelines.
- Typography must maintain a consistent visual style across all applications (print, digital media, presentations, advertising materials, etc.).
- Letter spacing (tracking) and line spacing (leading) must not be altered unless specifically required by official design specifications.
- The use of multiple different typefaces within the same visual identity system related to the logo or official ICF™ branding is not permitted.
- In international applications, typography must ensure full readability and clarity across all languages and digital platforms.
7. File Formats and Usage
- The logo must be used in appropriate file formats (e.g., vector formats such as SVG, EPS, or PDF for print, and PNG for digital use).
- Any conversion that results in loss of quality is not permitted.
- Vector files are the preferred format for all professional applications.
